Personal Statement

People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Maybe there’s a behavior that’s causing problems, a transition you need help navigating, something from the past that’s resurfacing, or someone to just listen to you. Whatever brings you here, you deserve a space that is safe and supportive—one that honors your story and your whole self. You’re the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, to help unpack what’s brought you here, and to support you in taking steps toward where you want to go.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years in the tech industry, selling software. That work often focused on keeping clients tied to a product. Therapy, to me, is the opposite. It’s about helping you bring what’s underneath to the surface and equipping you with the tools to independently face life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Our aim would be to help you build a life where you’re able to navigate challenges on your own—one where you feel unafraid, unashamed, and proud to live as your full self.

As a second-generation American born Chinese, I hold a special place in my heart for working with Asian Americans and other BIPOC clients navigating identity, unsaid familial rules, and intergenerational trauma. I also support individuals working through sexual trauma, addiction, and betrayal—especially when these experiences intersect with questions of spirituality.

In my free time, you can find me trying new recipes, running with friends, or hosting family and friends with my wife and our two kittens.

Approach to Therapy

I believe many of the behaviors and patterns we carry—especially the ones that feel confusing, painful, self-defeating, or shameful—began as creative strategies to help us survive early experiences. Often, these responses were shaped by trauma or what are now known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Because of this, I take a deeply non-judgmental stance toward the ways we’ve learned to make sense of the world and survive. Our work isn’t about forcing change or fixing you, but about understanding these parts of your story with compassion—and gently creating space for new possibilities.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and client-centered. I draw from psychodynamic theory, parts work, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and interpersonal neurobiology. People often describe me as warm, safe, and non-judgmental. I aim to create a space where you feel deeply seen, gently challenged, and safe to say whatever comes to mind.
