Personal Statement

I believe that everyone needs help. Everyone struggles, but some of our struggles are harder to talk about than others. Sometimes life can be so difficult, and it can feel like you are alone with no one to support you. The good news is that even if you feel that way now, you don’t have to stay there. In my life, I have had many wonderful people who have come alongside me when I’ve been struggling. It would be my honor to do the same for you. I love to create a nonjudgmental space for people to share about their struggles, even the ones that might be hard to talk about. The truth is you are not alone, and with the right support, you can overcome any obstacle that comes your way.

I, like many others, am a transplant to Chicago, but after over ten years of living in the city, it feels like home in a way no other place does. When I’m not working with clients at Pneuma, I also work at a church as a pastor. I love working with those who are serious in their faith, those who are struggling in their faith, and those who think faith is not something for them. I am equally comfortable bringing faith into the session, or staying focused on how your story makes sense to you.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, generally being outside, and roping friends and family into playing video games or board games with me. I live in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago with my wife, son, dog, and cat.

Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is centered around listening. I believe in the power of being heard and understood. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood and supported as we work together to make sense of the things going on in your life. I will listen intently to your story and reflect back to you what I hear to ensure it aligns accurately with your experience. Through this collaborative process, we’ll uncover patterns, explore emotions, and identify the underlying factors influencing your journey. My goal is to help you gain clarity, develop meaningful insights, and discover practical ways to navigate challenges and move toward a more full and fulfilling life.
