Personal Statement
I believe we are all created for authentic connection, and that being loved and known are core needs. It is my priority to see you, hear you, and fully value you so we can journey through your pain together towards healing, freedom, and purposeful living. I will help you understand yourself more deeply so you grow more confident to explore and take new risks in your life and relationships.
I specialize in helping adults, creatives, & Christians with both “type A” and “type B” trauma to move towards a more secure identity and ability to have meaningful relationships. Type A is about the absence of attachment needs you didn’t get growing up – nurture, protection, consistency, support, and emotional connection. Type B is about overwhelming, distressing bad events that happened to you – violence, sudden loss, sexual assault, etc. I also treat anxiety, phobias, depression, dissociation, relationship issues, unwanted sexual behavior, and church hurt / spiritual concerns. I have additional experience helping people in Christian ministry and missions. I consider the whole person – mind, body, soul, spirit – and welcome all parts of you here. I’m honored to immerse myself in your story & make your healing and growth my priority.
I grew up in Northern Virginia, have lived and traveled to many cities both domestic and abroad. I live in Rogers Park with my husband and consider Chicago home. Prior to entering the mental health field, I was in the performing arts (concert dance) and then in ministry / missions serving women locally and overseas. I value humor, depth, learning, justice, community, faith, and forgiveness. I enjoy traveling, cooking & baking, dancing, jamming to music, plants, home projects, reading, and hiking.
