Personal Statement

I do not take lightly the honor it is to walk with individuals and couples in their journeys. I believe it’s both brave and sacred when someone entrusts me with their story, their wounds, and the shaping moments of their life. My faith forms my perspective of people, believing that every person possesses inherent value, worth, and purpose. My goal is that, in every session, you feel truly seen, deeply heard, and led toward healing and growth. I lead with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for your lived experience.

As a counselor, I draw from evidence-based practices tailored to meet my client’s unique needs and goals. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, relational struggles, or the road of recovery, I’m committed to helping you identify your strengths and take meaningful steps forward.

I’m a native Chicagoan and co-founder of The Brook, a vibrant, multicultural church here in the city. For over a decade, I’ve been passionate about building strong, authentic communities and advocating for emotional and spiritual well-being. Alongside my husband, I also enjoy speaking at FamilyLife’s Weekend to Remember marriage getaways, where we offer practical, faith-based guidance to couples seeking to strengthen their connection.

Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is first rooted in compassion and collaboration. I seek to be more curious than certain in my posture. I believe healing is a journey that begins in a space that feels safe, supportive, and free from shame, a space where your story can be entrusted to someone who will honor it without judgment. I want you to feel like I really seek to understand what it’s like to walk in your shoes, and help you to feel, “she gets it”. Together, we will explore your experiences, challenges, and hopes, while co-creating meaningful goals that reflect the life you desire. My aim is that you leave each session feeling heard, seen, and validated with growing self-compassion, renewed hope, and empowered with an increasing conviction that transformation and healing is possible! I know personally that confronting pain and past wounds takes strength, and I’m committed to walking alongside you as you pursue healing, growth, and a life that reflects your purpose and intrinsic worth.
