I grew up in rural southern Wisconsin as a Filipino American, transracial adoptee. Both of these are a few identities that have created the capacity in me to sit with the complex identities of my clients’ lives. Living in a variety of urban areas, most recently Chicagoland, has deepened my curiosity and compassion for the infinite expanse of the human experience.Â
I have loved becoming a husband and a father. Here are other life experiences of meeting various people from walks of life that reflect the diverse clientele I work with:
I was a leader in my college years, heading up multiple organizations in diversity initiatives.
I started a non-profit organization guiding at-risk teenagers in social and emotional support.
I worked as an operations manager in the pharmaceutical industry.
I provided pastoral guidance.Â
I gained skills from Wisco’s dairyland professions (think cows, cheese and beer).
I have group therapy experience working with foster children and the adoptee constellation.Â
I assisted in the resettlement of refugees in the northern neighborhoods in Chicago.
I have provided housing in my home to men recovering from drug addiction.
I enjoy all things Packers and Brewers (sorry, Bear Fans), a good IPA or amber ale, biking up and down the Lakeshore Trail, thrifting and garage sales shopping, a good strategy board game, and a good conversation.
