Personal Statement

It is my belief that therapy is about meeting people where they are, whatever that looks like, and helping them get to the place where they want to be. When working with a client, I focus on building a connection in order to grow the therapeutic relationship to a place where growth and change can be easily facilitated. Through collaborative efforts combined with genuineness and commitment, I believe that client goals can be attained.

Becoming a counselor has been a lifelong goal for me. Growing up in a small South Mississippi town, I found that people hardly ever sought help. Seeing this need in both my community and the world led me to pursue counseling psychology. The opportunity to show people that they are not alone in this world is something I pray for constantly. It would be my absolute privilege to work with you to find joy, peace, healing, strength, passion, or even hope in this life.

My free time consists of reading, making amateur art, and eating anything sweet. I enjoy meeting new people and hanging out with my cat Jeremy while watching a good Netflix original. I also attend a local church where I get to sing in the choir and play the clarinet in the orchestra.

Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy centers around building a genuine relationship in which you feel comfortable enough to delve into difficult and intimate topics.  With compassion and care, I want to help you arrive at a place where breathing is easier. Providing a safe, non-judgmental space for disclosure, I hope you feel that you are supported with whatever you bring to the table. Through building that relationship, I want to walk with you and work with you on goals you feel will improve your quality of life.
