Personal Statement

I believe that each person can benefit from therapy, whether to work through symptoms that stem from previous hardships, improve communication and emotional regulation, and/or promote optimal mental health. It is a privilege for me to hold your own story and work with you to achieve your goals.

I have four years of experience working in a group home and school settings and am passionate about working with children, adolescents and families. I am ready to work alongside you to overcome any barriers in the way of living at your optimum level. I am particularly versed in working with children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events and are dealing with self-esteem, relational and behavioral issues.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants in Chicago with my partner, and playing with my Goldendoodle.

Approach to Therapy

First and foremost, I will not go anywhere unless you invite me there. I want you to take the lead and I will hold your story and space as sacred. I will always listen first, and tune in to what you want from me, whether it be someone to listen, someone to offer thoughts and a different perspective, offer interventions or tools to use, etc. If you are the parent/guardian of a child who sees me, I will keep you in the loop and will recommend interventions to use at home and school to aid in their progress. I am a warm, inviting, attentive, and nonjudgmental professional able to guide individuals, couples and families through this process of healing.

Treatment Modalities and Theoretical Orientations

What Clients Say About Lauren

Working with Lauren the last few months has been AMAZING! She is so comfortable to talk to and I always feel like I’m in a safe space. She has been a game changer for my 8 year old daughter as well. She has been struggling with anxiety for a while now and the pandemic has exasperated those anxieties. Lauren has helped us with the right tools to ease those anxieties.
